Franzie gained a Diploma in Holisitc Therapies after studying for 2 years, she then took the natural step and started her own business (previously Essence of Rose) providing massage in Totnes. Franzie wanted to study further into how to help more people so she embarked on a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture at The Northern College of Acupuncture in York.
Franzie is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the regulatory body for acupuncture, which means she is fully insured and accredited, and works to high professional standards. She will continue learning with Career Practioner Days (CPD's) and is looking to further specialise in women's health and the mental health sector.
Having personal experience with fertility issues, this is an area that she is very engaged with and knows how fertility can have such a negative impact on day to day life.
Mental Health is another passion for Franzie. It is thought that 43% of people believe that they have a diagnosable mental health condition in the UK a statistic which urgently needs addressing. Having seen how Acupuncture can have a positive affect on someone suffering from anxiety, depression, OCD, psychiatric disorders etc, this is something Franzie is very keen to treat.
Another of Franzie's passions is massage in particular deep tissue work. Having spent a number of years in her early 20's sitting at a desk (and having a tilted hip) she has had her fair share of back ache! It waant until Franzie started her massage training and received regular treatments that for the first time in a long time she no longer had constant back ache. This spurred Franzie on to pursue a deeper treatment and really envisage the muscle whilst manipulating it.
In Franzie's spare time she enjoys spending time with her family (husband and baby), cycling, yoga, work and going to the beach whether that is walking or just reading on Devons gold sand.
